field1Welcome To The Fort Stud & Stables

h134The Fort - Stud and Stables is located in Fort Nottingham in KwaZulu-Natal. Owned and operated by Jill Fox since 2006, The Fort has bred, backed and pre-trained numerous winners of races up to Grade 1 level both in South Africa and abroad, including Dubai, England, France, Germany, Mauritius and Zimbabwe.

Horses that have pre-trained here include Chocolicious, Jinzo, Orbison, War Artist, Absolute, Heretic and Intellectual, Winter Fever, Precedent and Hard Rock.

The Fort Stud’s aim is to produce horses that are mentally stable and have strong joints, muscles, heart and lungs to handle the rigors of being an athlete.

All horses are fed good quality food and drink spring water. Horses are bedded on either eragrostis hay or red grass which is provided to them ad lib.

This routine has led to great success as seen from the many horses that have been backed there that have won races up to Grade 1 level both locally and abroad. Many have continued racing until they are a good age.

The Fort Stud also provides Backing and Pre-Training, Spelling, boarding of Broodmares and Sales Preparation.
